How I store my Nail Products

My bedroom is not the biggest place in my house, probably being one of the smallest rooms in the house I struggle with fitting in everything that's mine. So being organised is a huge priority in order to find what I need quickly as well as keeping everything tidy. For a while I had been wanting somewhere to organise all of my nail products and nail varnishes particularly. I had my heart set on one of these cute handy metal trolleys to hold everything I need.

In the top drawer of my nail trolley I have kept all my manicure essentials such as; my Micro nail buffer, nail files, cuticle removers and essential products like nail oil and base/top coats.

The second drawer is where I began to organise my nail polish colours set in order to colour preference as well as including glitter polishes. Here I have various green, blues and purples.
Pinks, reds and oranges are neatly arranged in the third drawer along with other odd colours between, obviously in colour order. As well as nudes, beiges and greys. This being the heaviest drawer of the lot.
At the bottom is where I keep other manicure and nail art equipment, like different sizes brushes, a hand bath, extra bulbs for my UV lamp, another nail buffer and my nail polish removing machine. On top of this beautifully sturdy set of drawers I keep my Soap and Glory make up bag which holds my Mac and Soap and Glory products.

Drawers like mine can be found at places such as; Ikea, Dunelm and eBay.

How do you organise your nail products?

How to get Super Shiny Nails

Plain nails may look boring but when you add shine and a soft texture, they can be everything. Less is definitely more. Before I went into hospital for my operation I thought I deserved a little pampering manicure so I decided to try out one of my Christmas presents.

Micro Nail is a held hand nail buffer. Perfect for a quick and easy manicure.

To create a super shiny look I began by using my cuticle tools to give my nails a clean surface and fresh look and then took to using my Buffer.

As a guidance, the instructions say to only buff each nail at 2 seconds per nail. Don't worry if you exceed this time limit, as long as you don't press down really hard and use it for longer than 15/20 seconds, you won't really do any damage to your nail.
Once buffed you begin to see the effects with a slight dusting of white around your nails, this is only dust from your nails. You can easily wipe with an oil free cotton pad or go straight ahead with the next product.
To finish off my nails I used the No.7 2 in 1 Base Coat. If I'm entirely honest, I've had this product a fair while and most of the writing on the bottle has rubbed off and I've forgotten what it actually is. Though I presume with the yellow tint in the liquid, it must be a strengthener for the nails.
Give a good coating, 1 maybe 2 depending on your preference and super shiny nails are yours.
This is a good way to begin any manicure whether you plan staying plain with no other nail paint or using it as a way to prime and protect before nail art and polish.

I would highly recommend using a hand held buffer to help polish and shine your natural nails. Micro Nails comes from the same product company as the Micro Pedi which is used to remove dead, rough skin from the soles of your feet. So definitely a worthy product, however this is designed for nails.

Have you ever tried any Micro products? How do you prepare and protect your nails?

January Sales Best Buys

This seems like a pretty belated post but actually January is only just over so I think it still counts seen as I've been sale shopping from beginning to end. I know, I'm that bad but that's enough for now, I think.

There's a variety of different things I've purchased in the sales, that being make up products and clothing. Here's a few of my faves..

New Look Black High Neck Jumper
So this winter I've been loving big jumpers and sweatshirt with ripped jeans and after seeing this one in New Look on sale I had to have it. I'd seen it before and loved the high neck and super softness of the material and with it being quite a baggy jumper, longer at the back than the front, I managed to get away with buying a size smaller than my usual.

Soap and glory palette
Before Christmas I ended up meeting th lovely Glory Girls at Victoria Centre Nottingham on their last leg of their tour. I had myself a free make over where the girls used the Soap and Glory Perfect 10 palette, I found it half price in the January Sales in Boots! I've used it a few times since and the colours are just beautiful.

Ted Baker Mini Perfumes
Almost every year I manage to find the Men's mini aftershaves and buy them for Matthew and I've always wanted my own. There's something about mini cosmetics that get me. Especially this super pretty packaging; floral and metallic accents.

Old Skool Vans
For a while I've been craving a new pair of branded trainers. Something like Vans or Nike. There's no other way to put it than, the polka dots caught me and that was that! Also I love that they're "old skool" . Despite having them rub my feet raw for the first few days, they're perfect and go with absolutely everything.

Did you get any bargains during the January Sales?
