DIY Decoden Kawaii Phone Case
I've seen billions of these phone cases a while back and wondered how they were made and just thought how cute they are! after plenty of research and stumbling across the products used to create the cases I thought why not give it ago myself?!
It's a year now that I've had my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact and if I'm perfectly honest, it's an awesome phone. It does everything that I'll ever want and need it to do, and is especially good for photography seen as my camera recently died on me, my phone is what I've turned to for my blogging photos. BUT and for me it is a big but, there are next to no decent phone cases or covers around for this model! and when I do find a nice decent case which isn't overly expensive online, they're usually from the other side of the world and I'm not patient enough to wait week for a case that might not be all it looks on the photos. When I had my iPhone 4 last year I was like a case hoarder, I'd swap and change my cases around every month or so because there was so many to choose from and I loved the variety. Now I'm stuck in a rut with a quite brilliant phone with no cool cases that satisfy my weird craze. So, I just went ahead and made my own!
To start with I ordered a plain clear cover for my Sony phone from Amazon, I had orginally planned to jazz it up with some cute initial stickers and things but it didn't turn out as good as I'd hoped. That's when I stumbled across the Decoden materials in Hobbycraft and thought I'd go for it. The sets I bought where from Decoden Bling.
Depending on where you purchase your Decoden products from, some places have more variety in whipped cream for the piping, others just have a few basic colours. There are quite a few online retailers and websites that sell Cabochons (cabochons are the little decorations used on the phone case on top of the whipped cream) in wholesale and different themes and different "flavoured" whipped cream. Hobby Craft however had a small selection of around 4 colours of whipped cream and a range of different themed cabochon sets.
I chose 2 little sets themed "Chocolate and Cookies" and "Bunnies". I also found my own little pieces to decorate the phone case within my nail box, I added acrylic bows, diamantes, stones and a cute flower from an old charm bracelet.
First things first, you need to make sure you have the correct cover for your phone, dur! It doesn't have to be clear, a plain coloured one would look fine but clear is more effective. You will then need to use a nail file or piece of sanding paper to scuff the top of your case all over so that the silicone whipped cream will stick better.
Once the case has been roughed up you should arrange the cabochons onto your case so that you know exactly where to put them once you've piped your whipped cream as it hardens very quickly and you won't be able to remove the decorations once you've stuck them on. It is a good idea to take a photo of the arrangement so that you can look back on the picture when you're ready to decorate.
Ensure that the area your working in is tidy and you have covered anything that could get ruined, keep some tissue or a wipe close by incase of spillages. When you're ready you can twist the lid from your silicone tube, I made sure to squeeze out the first little bit of whipped cream to make sure there wasn't any gooeyness that shouldn't be in there and twisted on a nozel that I had to purchase extra for this, you can use regular piping nozels if they fit the silicone tube properly, if not you could just wrap some tape around to ensure it holds in place. Make sure that you know which style of piping you're going to do before starting as this isn't something you want to mess up. Depending on how big your cabochons are they will be able to cover up any mistakes. It absolutely ached my hand squeezing the whipped cream onto my case as it was so hard to come out, but take your time, it's worth it!
Simple enough, once you've finished piping go ahead and decorate the hell out of your case!
I made sure to leave my case on a piece of kitchen towel in a dry area over night so that the silicone was properly dry. I ended up leaving mine for another night as the day after the silicone still felt a little sticky.
Voila here is my finished Decoden Kawaii phone case!
I absolutely love it and I can't wait to make more, especially because I only used half of my whipped cream and cabochons. The white whipped cream kind of looks like it may get dirty if I constantly use this case and keep my phone in my bag but it should definitly wipe off.

I was given this as well as some Clarins bath and shower concentrate for my birthday a few months back and I've used this none stop. This is something I wouldn't usually go out and buy myself on a regular basis, definitely a treat product every now and again. I've never used a body lotion quite like this one, I mean this has its own sort of scent, if I'm honest it isn't a smell I'm 100% fond of but its really growing on me the more I use it. With added shea butter it is perfect for me and my dry skin especially as the days are getting colder, my skin begins to flare up and I'm prone to eczema. The lotion is so soft moisturising I'm able to use this daily without it leaving my skin feeling greasy.
Garnier Pure Active BB Cream
When my lovely friend at work gave me a sample of the regular Garnier BB Cream I was so excited to use it and was definitely pleased with how well it worked for my skin. BB Cream is one of those things I think every girl should own, if your ever feeling a down day with no make up or very little and still want to cover up blemishes, BB cream is perfect. It's all in the name Beauty Balm is essentially a tinted moisturiser. I looked everywhere for the BB cream and ended up stumbling across the new Pure Active version of the product. This Beauty balm has all everything you need to keep your skin feeling soft and silky as well as taking care of your imperfections; mattifies blemishes, evens skin tone, covers up any redness and works well against black heads. Definitely suitable if your prone to combination skin and imperfections like me. I tend to use this when I don't feel like a super full coverage from my regular foundation but still need some kind of coverage to my beauty marks. Pure Active is also recommended to those 25 and under!!
My New Hair
At the end of the summer I decided I'd have a little change. I had my hair cut into a long bob-ish style and pretty darn love it! With Ingrid Nilsen in mind, I'm even tempted to go a little darker and maybe shorter!
Bronze Slip Ons
Comfort is my number one priority when choosing new shoes and when I saw these on sale in Tesco for £4 they had to be mine. They are so versitile and lovely and especially perfect for this season as with their bronzey/rose gold tone they go with the majority of winter and Autumn colours whenever I'm feeling like an easy to wear shoe.
Ps Love Lash Defining Mascara
As mascaras go I don't think you can beat a good old Primark one! At around £2 (I don't quite remember) this is a steal. The wand has very small brissles suitable for giving your lashes that defined look and opening up your eyes. Almost identical to the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara and works just as well. Keep up the good work Primarni!
Victoria's Secret Mango Temptation Fragrane Mist
This has been my go-to fragrance since July! I love everything about this, the mango nectar and hibiscus scent is so sweet and fruity. The mist also has a conditioning agent that makes your skin feel super soft. So yummy!
