Ultra Slim Day 1

After constantly dieting and losing my battle between food and wanting to lose weight, I've decided I need to up my gain. Just recently I've had a few holidays away where I've eaten whatever and let myself go and now I'm paying the consequences by feeling sluggish, self conscious and just generally fat.

I have tried the Ultra Slim Smoothies before and I've felt better drinking them instead of my usual break fasts and lunch. I would have a smoothie for breakfast, a snack later on if I feel hungry like a yogurt or piece of fruit, a second smoothie for lunch and a healthy balanced meal for dinner. Snacking and sweets are my downfall so removing those will be a good start!

Ultra slim smoothies are powdered drinks which you add fruit juice to, where as the shakes you add milk, I also choose to add extra fruit.

So he's my day 1 entry of the diet. I'm hoping that documenting my journey will show other people it can be as easy as you make it and you don't need to bust your bank to pay for pills and useless shakes to do it. Ultra Slim is a Tesco dupe of the Slim Fast range and also has snacks in the range too. Hopefully keeping up with my blog with encourage me to keep up with my diet as an incentive to lose the weight I want and feel myself again.

Losing weight and maintaining the weight loss comes from healthy eating and exercise. I'm getting myself back into the gym, running and my favorite fitness classes; Zumba and Red Warriors.

This is a very personal thing for me to be documenting, so please respect my choices and take what I say into account.

Day 1

Breakfast - Vanilla Shake

Late morning snack - Apple

Lunch - I didn't fancy the shake so I had a Banana

Dinner - Low Low Grilled chicken and tomato pasta meal with added roasted veggies

Snack - Low fat raspberry Muller yogurt

First Impressions

Getting rid of snacks is hard! Especially when being off work all I want to do is keep looking in the cupboards for munchies. I'm having to keep myself busy and drink plenty of water to keep my mind away from eating. I'm not that bad at snacking really, it's just the choices I make are usually wrong. My first impression of the Vanilla shake was that it is so nice! The nicest vanilla milkshake I've had, after a while I began to get hints of the powder so maybe I didn't shaken it up enough and it reminded me of the taste of cake mix, but no complaints I'd happily enjoy it again maybe with some added banana next time. Me and my mum and doing the Ultra Slim diet together, which is brilliant as we can both help each other and share preparing our meals. We have a variety of the 'Low Low' low fat frozen meal which range from around less than 300 calories to 600 calories per meal. Simple and easy meals very useful for dieting, we also like to add extra veggies or salad. I really enjoyed my pasta meal though it hadn't much pasta sauce, there was plenty of hidden tomatoes and yummy chicken pieces. No complaints again.

I'd like to mention during this diet, although I call it a diet it is more of a lifestyle change for me to be eating better and cutting our crap. I will not be weighing myself or taking measurements unless I feel the need to throw myself on the scales at the gym. I prefer the idea of seeing myself differently in the mirror and not only seeing but feeling that the change is making a different to me on the inside and my body on the outside. Up to yet, I feel so much less jelly-fied in the mornings and more toned.

Til next time,

Katie xxx
