Review: Rio Home Steam Sauna

A few Christmases' ago I received a lot of beauty and spa treatment equipment's, including the sauna, spray tan machine and tent and a laser hair removal machine, just to name a few.

The sauna is essentially a tent which you can sit in, or stand depending on your preference. You are given a instruction book on how to set up the tent, just like any other tent with coloured poles to help instruct you with where they're meant to go in order to stand it together and then feed the tent itself through the holes. The tent has a small gap in the bottom of one corner where a pipe is then fed through to create the steam inside the tent. Inside the tent coming from the pipe you will attach a small round box which lets out all of the steam, you can some times hear this little devise making popping noises which is nothing to worry about it's just the evaporation of the water and steam. On first use the sauna takes around 10-15 minutes to get to the desired heat, I began with the lowest heat first so that I was able to get myself used to the heat. You must ensure that if you choose to sit in the tent and put a chair inside, be careful of the surrounding poles and depending on your choice of chair, it is a good idea to cover it with a towel to protect the seat.

If you find the heat comfortable you are able to increase the heat with the bigger steam generator which is set up located outside of the tent, this device must be filled with the exact amount of warm water, nothing more as it could over flow!

There is a zip on the outside of the tent as well as inside so that you're able to let yourself out, with a handy pocket on the outside for the remote which comes with the set. There are also arm holes and a fastening around the neck to ensure you are all zipped in! If you're feeling extra adventurous, the set comes with a detachable head piece which can be zipped around the top of the tent which will generate extra steam to the head and face area. This is a brilliant way to unclog pours and relieve congestion.

Once finished with the equipment the steam generator will automatically turn itself off after a certain space of time, I believe around 30 minutes. You must ensure that you leave the zipped area opened, remove any chairs or towels and leave the tent somewhere airy and dry to ensure that any moisture inside and can dry itself out.

I loved this product! It is a useful way of relieving a ton of symptoms. At the time of trying this out, I had chronic back pain from the Insanity workout and it eased my pain so much it was barely gone the next morning. If used appropriately and regularly, steam tents and saunas are a healthy was to help with weight loss but you must ensure to keep hydrated after every use and drink plenty of water!
